EAST WEEKLY LOG
Apr. 11- Apr. 15, 2016
Proclamations:
This week is National Library Week.
I know this is a week away, but I wanted to give you a heads-up: Fax Gilbert will be here on Tuesday, April 18th at 9:00 for an assembly to present "Character and Bullying" to East students. He will also do a presentation for the PTA meeting that evening. I will call grade levels down over the intercom.
Parental Engagement, Something to ponder: One way to make sure that a student succeeds is to establish a close collaboration between a teacher ( or other staff member) and the student's family. It's not enough to have parent-teacher conferences once or twice a year, send occasional notes home, and meet casually at an open house or PTA meeting. Instead, we mean the steady, intentional practice of face-to-face meetings, phone calls, notes, and e-mails with each family--and not just when there are problems.
