Important Parking Lot/ Pickup and Drop Off Information- PLEASE READ
For the safety of our students and staff, it is vital that you are not stopping on the white crosswalk. If there is not enough room in front of you to pull all the way up past the crosswalk, please WAIT until you can do so. Students who ride their bikes or walk to school must be able to safely get across the road to the sidewalk. We understand that the dismissal and pickup time can be hectic and busy, but we appreciate your cooperation in keeping our students and staff safe.
In addition, if you are dropping off your student and walking them up to the doors, you MUST park in the Meadows parking lot, and walk your child around the building to the GATE doors, using the sidewalk circled below. In the Meadows parking lot is is vital that you are parking in a spot, and not blocking our busses from getting in and out. This also applies for walkers in the afternoon for pickup. It is very important that traffic is able to flow freely in our car loop. In order to do this we need to eliminate all traffic other than the car line. Adherence to these procedures will allow our drop off and pickup times to get quicker and flow at a must easier pace.

Curriculum Night
Monday September 18th, we will be hosting our curriculum night. You can choose from two sessions to attend, and you can attend both if you have more than one student enrolled here at GATE. This evening will be spent learning from your child's teacher, hearing about their curriculum for the year, and more. If you have a middle school student, this will be a great opportunity to learn and ask questions regarding their changes to their schedules.

8th Grade Washington D.C Trip
The 8th Grade Washington D.C Field Trip has spots available if any remaining parents or scholars are interested. Please sign up by this Monday, September 18th to reserve your seat.
Washington D.C. serves multiple purposes of researching and engaging in civic and government-related activities. Students will visit civic landmarks and view original documents of democracy. They will better understand the history, structure, purpose, and processes of the U.S. government and important persons in governmental history. They will gain civil and historical perspectives by visiting various museums addressing such topics as the Holocaust and African-American history.
This year there is no wait list for parent chaperones. We will be able to have as many guardians that would like to join. Please scan the QR code for pricing and read carefully through the Powerpoint Parent Meeting details.
If you have any questions or troubling signing up to reserve your seat please reach out to our field trip leader Sarah Gilbert.
As the date approaches, there will be an in-person meeting to go over more details at AMS.
Reporting Your Student's Absence
If your child will be absent, you have two options for reporting their absence. You can call the GATE Attendance Line at (248) 537-6410. The line is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. You can also use our Parent Connection App to report it online. You can find instructions for this method below. If your child is absent due to a medical appointment or illness, a doctor's note helps to excuse your child's absence.
GATE Fun Run
We’re excited that we’ve already reached our first milestone for this year’s Fun Run fundraiser–we hit our first goal of raising $5,000 for our school!
Next up we’re running towards our next goal–$10,000 and students will earn a fun day to Bring their school supplies in “Anything but a backpack” or bring a stuffed animal (google “anything but a backpack day” and get creative–ziploc bag, cereal box, the possibilities are endless!). Share your student’s fun run link (emailed to you from 99 Pledges) and thanks for your donation–every little bit helps!
We’re excited for the Fun Run on October 6th and hope to see YOU there! Come run or walk and cheer! It's a costume run–come in a costume or we’ll have extras to borrow! Check the attached flyer for more details including run times and how to send a “shout-out” to your student.
