Nature Trail Clean-up November 17 9-11AM

There will be plenty to do for grown-ups and kids alike! Our main goals will be clearing the pathways of fallen leaves and clearing out any plant growth that is obstructing the path or blocking signage along the trail. Please bring any tools that may help us accomplish these goals. Rakes will be the most useful tools. Gardening gloves will be a good idea for everyone as well as weather appropriate clothing and shoes or boots that can get wet or muddy. There will be a brief instructional chat at the start of the morning which will also include tips for being safe on the trail.

Keepers of the Trail Needed!

To help monitor conditions on our Nature Trail, we ask our BSES families to sign up to be Keepers of the Trail. During a given week a BSES family will walk the trail to pick up trash and report on general conditions of the trail. There is a backpack that can be retrieved at school that contains all of the necessary materials and information. So, take a walk on our trail with your family and help to maintain our trail! Click the link below to sign up:

Last Tuesday our 5th graders participated in a variety of exciting learning activities on the BSES Nature Trail. The 5th grade teachers planned interdisciplinary activities within a rotation of 5 learning stations. It was a pristine autumn day and the students learned so much while also having fun in the outdoors! Our Nature Trail has been developed into an outstanding learning resource largely through the efforts of BSES parents over the past 15 years. Below are some pictures from the day:
