Staff Spotlight

We are so happy to have Ms. Doherty at Lubbock-Cooper North Elementary! She is our Communities in Schools Coordinator. Her job is to help students any way she can. One way is through the Pirate Pantry. The Pirate Pantry consists of clothes, food, and other supplies that our students may need. Ms. Doherty also mentors numerous students. She absolutely loves our students and is willing to do anything she can to help.

Speaking of the Pirate Pantry, please read below!

Pirate Pantry

The Pirate Pantry is in need of restocking. We will have bins available in the foyer of the school for donations. We need snack foods like Cheez-Its, fruit snacks, small cans of fruit, and any other item that is easy to eat. We can also use easy-to-make foods like mac and cheese, Cup of Noodles, and soup. Thank you for your continued support of the Pirate Pantry!

The Pumpkin Patch Returned to North!

Thanks to some very generous members of our community, we were able to provide a pumpkin patch for our students this year! Students absolutely loved it, especially that the weather was nice! Thank you so much to our PTO members and Student Council representatives who volunteered their time and effort for this great event!

Check out some of the pictures below from this year's pumpkin patch.

Pirates Of The Month

These outstanding Pirates were nominated by their teachers for showing exemplary behavior and utilizing the Pirate Code: Responsible, Caring and being Respectful at all times. These wonderful students are great examples of how a Pirate should perform in and out of the classroom.

She is always eager to help others and is always following the Pirate Code without being asked. She is always setting a great example for her peers.lowing the Pirate Code without being asked. Antonio is the perfect example of a Pirate. He is always prepared to learn and try something new. If there's another student who doesn't understand something he will always take the time to help them in any way he can. He is always respectful to not only the staff of Lubbock Cooper but also to his classmates. He is always first to check on someone and ask if they are okay. You will always hear him saying "Yes ma'am," or "No ma'am," to adults when he is asked a question. He takes the time to say "Thank you," to the cafeteria staff as he is leaving the cafeteria every day.

He is also very helpful when it comes to technology. He is very knowledgeable in it and is always open to helping fellow classmates if they are having issues with their iPads.
