Mustang Pride!
Happy Friday!
Today was a beautiful day at Parkside Elementary. Our staff was treated to a delicious Diwali lunch provided by some of our generous families. We were so thankful to learn more about Diwali and taste the Indian cuisine. Thank you so much for such a heartfelt treat!
Our third graders had the opportunity to participate in the Kids First program where they learned about various disabilities such as autism, ADHD, speech and vision impairments, dyslexia, and physical impairments. This program teaches students empathy, tolerance, and compassion. A huge shout out to Danele Yemets for her time and effort putting this program together for our students and to all the volunteers who helped to make it such a huge success! Be sure to take a look at some of the pictures below!
Don't forget, tonight is our Family Fitness Night! We will be here rain or shine! It's sure to be a fun event, so get into your costumes (optional) and join us for a night of fitness and FUN!
We hope you all have a great weekend!
Lauren, Maggie, & Erin

A Special Visitor!
National First Responders Day!
Every day First Responders put their lives on the line for their fellow Americans, United States Representatives Mark Meadows (R-NC) and Elijah Cummings (D-MD) have introduced the House companion resolution to a U. S. Senate bill sponsored by United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) along with Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) to to designate October 28, 2019 as “Honoring the Nation’s First Responders Day.”
First Responders, such as Police, Firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics, put their lives on the line everyday for people they don’t even know. They are more than good neighbors – they are our brothers, sisters, husbands, wives and friends. While everyone else is running away, they’re running towards the danger.
First Responders are encouraged to come to Parkside the morning of October 28th to open car doors, be announced and introduced on the Parkside News, and also welcomed to come eat lunch with their student!
Thank you for your service!
