Box Tops Contest
Hello, Parents! It’s the time of the year to clip and turn in your Box Tops! Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help HRE earn cash. Find a full list of hundreds of participating products at www.BTFE.com. The contest begins October 22 and runs through November 2. Details will be sent home with students after fall break. Prizes will be given to the top class per grade.
Volunteers and Lunch Visitors
Hoosier Road Elementary always has many opportunities for parents to become involved. Whether it’s through volunteering in the classroom or a PTO event, attending classroom activities or even eating lunch with your child, you must have a valid background check on file and view the anti-bullying training on-line. Background checks are valid for three years. Please allow up to 6 business days for checks to be completed. Please follow this link for complete directions: http://www.hse.k12.in.us/ADM/parents/volunteering.aspx
We want you to be able to interact with our students but we also need to adhere to strict safety guidelines set forth by our school district. Look for an email from Safe Visitor Solutions which will issue a bar code unique to you. Please bring that bar code (on your phone or on paper) on your first visit to HRE so we may take your photo! Thank you for your compliance and for helping to keep all of our students safe.
Veteran's Day Program
Hoosier Road's much anticipated annual Veterans Day Program will be held in the gym on Monday, November 12th at 9:30AM and 2:00PM. Doors will open at 9:15 AM for the morning performance and at 1:45PM for the afternoon performance. Please enter through Door 10 (near the gym). Our first through fourth graders will all be performing.
Due to space limitations, we are asking that only two parents per participating student attend; sorry, no siblings. However, if you would like to bring a veteran or someone currently serving in our armed forces as a special guest, they are welcome and encouraged to attend.
To speed up the entrance process and help with seating, there will be two lines located at the gym door (exit 10) -- one for parents with veterans and one for parents only. This is considered a public event so no background checks will be required.
If you would like to purchase a copy of the performance, you can do so online or at the school for a cost $10. Approximately 2 weeks after the performance, you will receive a link via email. The videos are hosted on Google drive for easy viewing, and downloading! To purchase online, please navigate to https://www.patricksfilms.com/download-now. All pre-orders will receive 20% off! If you are unable to order in advance, you will have an opportunity to order the day of the performance. For further questions, please go to https://www.patricksfilms.com/faq-support or E-mail at Admin@PatricksFilms.com.
Our first through fourth graders are very excited to celebrate Veterans Day through singing, reading and honoring those who have served our country so that we may enjoy all of our freedoms.
