Principal's Update
Dear Paularino families,
As you may know, the district posted a COVID-19 Dashboard on the NMUSD website. This dashboard will be updated as positive cases are reported within the district and will remain on the dashboard for 14 days. Only current cases are reported. As a district, we are working closely with the Orange County Health Care Agency and seek guidance from them if a confirmed case is within the district. If there is a confirmed case at Paularino, the school nurse or school administrator will communicate with staff and families if they or their student has been identified as a close contact. A close contact is defined as a student or staff member within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes of a confirmed COVID-19 case. Communication from the school nurse or site administrator will not go to families who are not considered close contacts.
There are many ways we can support our students with hygiene and healthy precautions to help our students stay healthy. Wash hands frequently with soap and water and scrub for 20 seconds, use hand sanitizer when washing is unavailable. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow. Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. If you think you or your child is sick, please consult with your health care provider. Wear a mask when out in public, and keep a social distance from people who do not live in your residence.

Thank you,
Mrs. Schwartz

A few safety reminders
When dropping off and picking up your students all adults and children over the age of 2 must wear a face mask. This is for your safety and the safety of others. It is also the law. Please remember to keep a social distance from others outside your household as well.
Many parents have been walking through the parking lot to drop off or pick up their students which is very dangerous for pedestrians and drivers. Please use the sidewalk for the safety of all students, staff, and parents.
When in the car line please remain in your car. This will help the car line to move faster with children getting in and out on their own. A staff member will be there to assist if needed.
If walking or parking to pick up your child please wait by the sidewalk of the MPR or the sidewalk by the exit driveway. With added adults on the sidewalk of the car line it is difficult to maintain a social distance and keep all children safe near moving vehicles.
Thank you for your cooperation to keep all students, staff, and families safe.
Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Student safety is a top priority. Changes to arrival and dismissal procedures are in place to help support social distancing, as well as to keep students safe.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Gates will open 10 minutes prior to the start of the cohort.
7:50am for AM Cohort
11:50am for PM Cohort
Parents/guardians will walk students to the assigned gates with appropriate social distancing for students to enter campus. If driving, please pull all the way forward to unload your student. Students will walk through the gates to their class line on the blacktop.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
10:30am for AM Cohort
2:30pm for PM Cohort
Parents/guardians will wait at the assigned gates with appropriate social distancing for students to exit campus. Students will stay with their teachers and move to an assigned area on the grass to wait for parents/guardians. If driving, please pull all the way forward for your child to get in the car.
Please be on time to pick up your child. Students are not allowed in the front office and will need to wait outside until picked up.
Parents needing assistance from the front office staff will wait outside the office until a staff member is able to greet them.
