What I Love About School
Students wrote their parents letters detailing what they love about Sprague and included pictures that highlighted their day. The letters were shared with families this week during Curriculum Night. Please visit the school's Google Doc folder for more pictures of the students letter writing.
No School Monday
This is just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, Sept. 5, for Labor Day. Enjoy your three day weekend.

Procedures are Essential to Ensure Safety for Kids
Please follow these map procedures when picking up students. Student pick up begins at 2:40 p.m. Our students are young and the vehicle pick up line may take time to get through but can be safely done when parents stay in line and follow signals from staff directing traffic.
Inclement Weather Pick Up: When it is raining, storming, or snowing please pick up your children in the vehicle pick up line and do not exit your vehicles. The line will dismiss from the East Doors so that students can stay inside until placed safely into their cars. Parents, please do not wait outside or get out of your vehicle as it can become too clustered and cause confusion for our learners.
For the safety of our children please follow the village signs around the schools - no blocking driveways, abide by the no stopping, no standing, no parking signs; follow residential roadway speed limits of 20 mph, and stay off of phones.
MAP Testing Update
This month and last month, students in grades 1-8 have been taking the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. The MAP assessment consists of both Reading and Math portions, and is one of the methods teachers and administrators use to collect data on student academic growth.
- Second-graders: Wednesday, August 31 (Math), and Wednesday, September 7 (Reading).
- First-Grade: Thursday, September 1 (Math), Thursday, September 8, 2022 (Reading).
Shoe Boxes & Donations Sought
Help us pack 600 shoeboxes with supplies for young children. Please send your adult sized shoe boxes with a lid to Sprague School. We need them for Operation Shoebox, a philanthropic project that sends shoeboxes filled with toys, toiletries, and school supplies to children ages 2-14 all over the world for the winter holidays. We welcome a monetary donation for the purchase of these items as well. Please go to the bottom of the SignUpGenius page and select items you will purchase so we know what materials you plan to provide.
District News
Communication Opt Out Form
Lincolnshire–Prairie View School District 103 and all of its schools have many opportunities to recognize and showcase students’ work, accomplishments, and activities throughout the year using photos of students, providing name recognition on the website, media, newsletters, and/or publishing copies of their work. This may take the form of print newsletters, video, social media (names are withheld), websites, email notices, newspaper articles, etc.
If you approve of having your student’s photo, name, and/or student work published, please DO NOT fill this form out. Parents who DO NOT want their child’s photograph, name used, and/or student work published need to complete this Communication Opt Out Form each school year and return it to your child's school, email it to Margaret Van Duch at mvanduch@d103.org, or mail it to her at 111 Barclay Boulevard, Lincolnshire, IL 60069.
