Wrestling Wins District Championship; 9 Qualify For State Tournament

Howell hosted the Class 4 District 2 Wrestling Tournament on Friday and Saturday and our Vikings brought home the District Championship. Not only was it a great day for the team but Howell also qualified nine wrestlers for the State Tournament this coming week at Mizzou Arena. Below you can find the final results for our State Qualifiers as well as an article from STL Today. Good luck to all of our State Qualifiers this coming weekend!

State Qualifiers

106 - JT Roberts (22-16) placed 3rd and scored 16.00 team points.

113 - Josh Kyle (35-11) placed 1st and scored 26.00 team points.

138 - Robert Saunders (22-18) placed 3rd and scored 18.00 team points.

152 - Peter Enos (45-2) placed 1st and scored 24.00 team points.

170 - Geoffrey Seebeck (29-20) placed 4th and scored 9.00 team points.

182 - Dylan Fridrich (27-16) placed 4th and scored 9.00 team points.

Girls Swim Wins GAC Chapionship; Qualifies 9 For State

Congratulations to our Girls Swim program on winning its second straight GAC Championship! The Lady Vikings edged out the Championship over Timberland on Wednesday night. Next up for the swim program is the MSHSAA State Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Rec-Plex. We have nine Lady Vikings that have qualified for the State Meet. You can view a list of our State Qualifiers below. Congratulations to the swimmers, staff and parents on a great regular season and good luck at State!

Howell Student-Athlete Signings Reach 36; Nearly 200 In Past 4 Years

The student-athletes in the Class of 2018 are making their mark both in the classroom and in their activities and sports. So far this year, 36 student-athletes have signed to further their education and sport at the college level. This group of 36 students have not only had success in their sport but also in the classroom as well where they hold a cumulative 3.6 GPA over the course of their high school career. The class of 2018 currently has 45% of it's student-athletes that have signed to further their education and sport at the college level. This far surpasses the national average of just 7.4%. Over the course of the past four years Howell has had nearly 200 students go on to further their education and activity/sport at the college level which marks over 26% of it's senior participants. Congratulations to our student-athletes below on signing to further their education and sport at the college level. Winterguard & Drumline Kick Off Season At Edwardsville

The Howell Winterguard and Drumline programs kicked off their season on Saturday as they both competed in the Edwardsville MCCGA competition. Congratulations to both on strong performances. We look forward to following these two programs this season!

Jeff Graflage Wins Skills USA Competition.

Congratulations to Jeff Graflage on winning 1st place at the district SKILLS USA competition in the auto collision repair “refinishing” category. As a result of his championship finish, Jeff earned a $1500 scholarship from Ranken Technical College! Congratulations to Jeff on this great accomplishment.

Girls Basketball Earns #1 Seed In District Tournament

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball program on earning the #1 seed in the Class 5 District 4 Tournament. The Lady Vikings have won 11 of their last 13 games are are currently ranked. Spring Meet the Coaches Set For February 15th

The spring season "Meet the Coaches" has been set for February 15th. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students participating in a spring MSHSAA sponsored activity must have this completed prior to the first day on February 26th. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the "Meet the Coaches" event on February 15th. To ensure participation on February 26th all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than February 23rd at noon. A link to all eligibility paperwork can be found below.
