SWIMMING: As part of the Health and PE Curriculum we are incredibly fortunate to have our own school swimming pool to support water safety and skills. We hope to open the pool tomorrow for classes to use for children to develop water confidence and fun in the pool.
Please make sure your child brings to school from tomorrow:
- A named swimming bag
- Named swimming togs (rash vest if possible as we are also a sunsmart school)
- A named towel
Please check that your child can change themselves and go through how to keep all their belongings in their swimming bags.
Blessings and thanks to you all
CATHOLIC CHARACTER - THE WORKS OF MERCY
As a school we are focusing our prayers on the Corporal and Spiritual works of Mercy this week. Alongside this we are working through the Communion of Saints as we learning we are all saints , with a small 's' here at Our Lady of Lourdes.
The works of mercy are found in the teachings of Jesus. They give us a model for how to treat others, as if they were Jesus in disguise. Offering works of mercy with sincerity show we are living like Jesus, with our kind hands, kind words and kind heart.
The Works of Mercy are more than just an obligation. They are performed as acts of love for our neighbour and as a response to our deep love for God.
They show how we can live Jesus’ Law of Love.
We learn of Jesus’ Law of Love and the Works of Mercy so that we can live out his lessons in today's world.
Help us to do this as a team through the ideas we have discussed and the actions we have planned.
May our compassion for others help us to bring Your love into the world.
Help us have a fun and safe week of learning & games.
Bless our efforts to show your mercy and love to the world.

Palmerston North City Council
Please avoid the Te Awe Awe/Albert St intersection in the morning, and find a different way to school.
Council is urgently fixing a manhole near the roundabout. While the intersection will be open it will be operating under stop/go and this will cause considerable delays.
They’ve asked us to share this message with you and encourage you to find another route to school in the morning.
They’ll be posting updates on the council facebook page.
Thanks for your patience.
