Why Celebrate
Petroleum or oil is a fossil fuel that takes millions of years to form and is considered a non-renewable energy source. Petroleum is used in many products such as gasoline, asphalt, tires, candles, perfume and plastics, but its supply is limited. Scientists predict this natural resource will be gone in a few decades. So you can help by recognizing that Petroleum is vanishing on November 17th.
Why should Petroleum Day be a larger holiday
- Reason one, We are using up alot of the only petroleum we have and soon we will have no more.
- Reason two, We use petroleum in many things that some people dont recognize, and without it we could not do things like drive our cars.
- Reason three, If there was no petroleum left then tons of people would be jobless and could not provide for their families.
This pie chart shows how much we use petroleum.
