Dear Erickson Families,

The 4th Grade Choir performed this week for the entire school, led by our Music Teacher, Mr. Welch. They sang us into the holiday season! Great job 4th graders!

Tonight, Thursday, December 8th, is the Holiday Gift Shop at Erickson from 6:00-8:00pm where students can shop for gifts for family and friends. The gift shop is located in the Erickson Gym. Please consider stopping by Erickson to do some holiday shopping! The Holiday Gift Shop is also open during school hours on Friday for students to shop.

Tomorrow, Friday, December 9h, First Trimester Progress Reports (report cards) will be emailed home to one parent.

Our annual Mitten Tree will be in the lobby starting November 28. Please donate hats, mittens, gloves and scarves. Please consider giving to our tree which will help local families within our DuPage County community.

Winter Weather: Erickson students have outdoor line-up and spend recess outside when the temperature, including WIND CHILL, is 10 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Students may play in the snow during recess if they are properly dressed in winter gear, which includes a winter jacket, snow pants, hat, gloves, and snow boots.

PTO EVENTS

Holiday Gift Corner: 12/8 in the evening from 6-8:00pm for families and on Friday 12/9 during school hours only for students. Parents may choose to send money with their child to shop during the school day.

PTO UPDATES

Winter Party: Our next party is the Winter Party on December 16 from 11-12 pm. The head room parent for each classroom needs to submit the list of parent volunteers for badges to be made to the office and update the teachers with the plan for the party including any food items with the ingredient list by Friday, December 9th.

Please take the time to review the Erickson Family Handbook. Each class will meet with Mrs. Frattinger and myself to discuss school rules and procedures. Ask your student how to SOAR in the hallways, in the classroom, on the bus and during recess.

The first full day of school is Thursday August 25th, for students in first - fifth grade. Kindergarten & Preschool students start school on Monday, August 29th. Students may arrive between 8:25-8:40. Classes begin at 8:40.

School Hours:

Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30

Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30

Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30

Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20

Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20

Lunch Hours:

1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:00-12:25

4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50

Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Students should bring their lunch in the morning to school each day. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: Click here to learn about arrival and dismissal procedures for the 2022-2023 school year. Families should utilize the side parking lot for pick-up and drop-off. The front parking lot is designated for buses only. Morning arrival is between 8:25am-8:40am. Staff begin to supervise students at 8:25 am. Grades K and 4-5 will enter through the front doors. Grades 1-3 will enter through the side of the building. Students will begin to enter the school at 8:35 and go directly to their classrooms. School beings at 8:40.

If you are interested in ordering another Pillar Shirt, please fill out this PILLAR SHIRT ORDER FORM and send $10 in a marked envelope "PILLAR SHIRT" with your child. A new Pillar Shirt will be delivered to your child once the money is received. Please fill out one form per child.
