We Celebrate You!!

We are so very lucky to have all of you as a part of the Hartford School family. Despite the many challenges you face, you are lucky in your choice of profession. The reason you went into teaching is to make a difference in children's lives and to convey a love of learning. You have chosen to spend each and every day helping your students discover themselves and the world. This is precious, invaluable work. It is because of your dedication, we the Hartford administration, celebrate you this week. Join us for daily raffles on some really great gifts, inspirational quotes, goodies, music, and a lunch that we hope will leave you wanting to head south of the border. Thank you for all that you do and enjoy your week.

Progress Reports

As a reminder, progress reports go home to students on 5/4. Please make sure that CST receives a copy of the progress report for all special education students.

Self-Assessment for Annual

I didn't know if I was clear in previous HUES News about the self-assessment that needs to be completed for the Annual meeting. Everyone needs to complete a self-assessment before the meeting. You are going to do your self-assessment under the 2014-15 school year. You will see a drop down box at the top of the page. If you have already done a self-assessment in the 2014-15 school year, click on "add another". Your self-assessment is going to help you determine what your PDP should be. Your PDP is going to be completed under the 2015-16 school year.

Guidance Awards

The Guidance Department is still accepting nominations for the I Care Award, Chris Conway Award, and the President's Silver Award. The deadline for submission is May 15th. Email Carol Torres with your nominees.

Student Phone Calls

Please continue to monitor student phone calls and the reason for them. Lately, there has been a number of parents calling the school stating that their child called but the child did not leave a message.

Bus Dismissal

Thank you for everyone's attention and assistance with getting the extended day care students into the cafeteria on time. This week has been one of the smoother weeks in a long time.

2015-16 Club/Duty Applications

The club and duty application period for the 2015-16 school year is now open. Forms are located in the main office. As you know, the majority of our clubs are funded by the PTO so the number of clubs that are actually available will not be known until the club budget has been determined. Please use the correct forms. If your club is paid for by the district and is listed in your contract, then you use the Schedule A/B form. If your club is PTO funded then you use the Club form. Please understand that advisor/duty positions are on a year to year basis.

NCLB Needs Assessment Meeting

Dr. Vitella is conducting the district's annual NCLB Needs Assessment meeting at the MLH Center on Tuesday, May 19, from 3:30 to 4:30. At this meeting she is going to be gathering information on district needs in order to complete the NCLB grant. The meeting is open to all.
