Quist ROYALS Weekly News
September 9, 2022
Hello, ROYALS!
We have exciting news to share! We received our School Performance Framework from Colorado’s Department of Education, and we have gone up one level. We are still not where we want to be and are excited to report this forward movement. This rating is based on last year’s CMAS results. These reports can be found on the Colorado Department of Education’s website.
Next week, our 6th-grade students will head off to Outdoor Education followed by our 7th-grade students the following week. Communication regarding this is being shared through your student(s) pathways teacher. If for some reason you do not have the necessary information, please contact your student(s) pathways teacher.
The total cost of the trip per student is $185. Each box of chocolate is a credit of $30 towards the trip.
We have received feedback regarding communication and coordination of the logistics required. Our team is diligently working to ensure we address the open concerns. Returning to this program and in some cases, it is the first time for our staff to host this event. This has allowed for some opportunities and lessons learned. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this has caused. We remain committed to the positive impact and value this opportunity has for our students and community.
Thank you to the 58+ parents/guardians that have volunteered to help and submitted volunteer applications. I know some of you are still waiting to hear back and we are doing everything we can to get volunteers cleared. To share some insight on the delays, we in addition to other schools and positions across the district have submitted applications. This has put a strain on resources within the process and is causing a longer than normal wait. Student safety and the proper clearance process for all volunteers remain the top priority. We will adjust and consider this in our planning for the future. Typically the response time has been 3 days and we are seeing delays of up to two weeks or longer. Understandably, this is frustrating for everyone, and our team has committed to working up to the final hour to clear as many as possible once we have the final approval to do so.
Our school-wide fundraiser is due on Wednesday, 9/14. There are two ways your child can participate in our Day of Awesomeness on September 30th.
- The first way is to send 10 emails through the site.
- The other option is to submit a $50.00 donation either through the site or bring it to school.
It is our hope that every Royal can participate in the fun the Day of Awesomeness will be!
Here is what you need to know about athletics this week at Quist!

Volleyball - we are in need of a "team Mom/dad/family person" to help organize the end-of-season celebration. The school will provide pizza for the athletes; I need help organizing donations of drinks/sweets/salty yummies to round out the celebration. I also need help designing certificates that will be printed at school. This celebration will take place Oct 13, after school, at Quist.
Football - I have a "team Mom/dad/family person". If you would like to help, please send me an email. This celebration will take place Oct 12, after school, at Quist.
