Update from AVUHSD
September 24, 2020
AVUHSD Invest in Technology to Support Blended Learning
As we anticipate the return of students to our classrooms, we are investing in technology that will allow all families, regardless of whether your student continues to learn at home or return to school (when possible), to access engaging and dynamic lessons developed and delivered by the classroom teacher. We have partnered with Promethean since 2008 with a number of devices on each campus and are thrilled to expand this tool to every classroom in our schools!
Meal Service Update
Our Food Service Team is pleased to announce Saturday meal distribution at all eight comprehensive high schools. Each Friday, Food Services will provide all eligible persons 18 years and younger two meal kits that will include Saturday’s lunch, as well as Monday’s breakfast. Daily meal service takes place from 11:00 to 1:00 Monday through Friday. Visit avfood.org for more information.
First Quarter Ends October 9th!
It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of the first quarter! While you will receive a hard copy in the mail, you don’t need to wait. As a reminder, you can check your student’s progress using one of the three options below:
AV High School District App - This app gives you news, information, as well as your student’s progress. It is available on both the Apple App Store and Android App Store. When in the App Stores search for AV Union High School District and download the app.
PowerSchool App - This app ties right into your PowerSchool parent portal. You will get live updates on grades and attendance. This app is also found on the Apple App Store and Android App store. Search for PowerSchool. The district code is NWMZ.
Parent Portal: https://powerschool.avhsd.org This is where you can access all your student’s information from within PowerSchool. You can create an account using the Create an Account tab and filling out the information. You can get your student’s Access ID and Access Password from your school sites main office.
