NBES in the News....
We believe in exceeding our expectations
Week in Review
Welcome to October NBES families. We now have an incredible month of learning under our belt and are looking forward to many more adventures! In kindergarten this week, the students continued to increase their stamina in reading and writing and I witnessed some incredible building of social connections by way of creating a huge train track and rows of beads! In first grade, our students worked on subtraction and sequencing of story events. Our second graders developed subtraction sentences, decoded mystery words, and earned lots of NBES Star Bucks! Our third graders identified character traits, worked on poetry, and introduced technology into ELA. The fourth graders dove into identifying the various types of matter in science and shared their excitement for reading books and sharing stories with me. Our fifth graders played a dice comprehension game, used technology in math and had plenty of individual small group instruction geared to their own level. In sixth grade, we traveled to Africa and compared their continent and culture to North America, worked on exponents in math. In a few weeks, many of our sixth grade friends will be traveling to Nature's Classroom. Art class students read the Very Busy Spider and created lots of interesting looking arachnids! Our music classes began singing songs in preparation for our Winter Concert and Mr. Reardon worked them hard during exercise time.
