The EOC was different from the Roman Catholic Church, because the EOC services were in Greek.
Patriarch was the Leader
The EOC believed that the power of a church should not solely belong to the pope, so they had a patriarch become the leader of the EOC.
Veneration initially not accepted
Veneration is profound respect or reverance. The Eastern Orthodox church did not believe in veneration at first.
ROMAN CATHOLIC: WEST
Latin services
The services of the Roman- Catholic church were in Latin.
Leader: The Pope
The Roman Pope was the supreme church authority.
Veneration accepted
Veneration is profound reverance and respect. The Roman Catholic church believes in veneration.
