QBS Learning Centre News
Week beginning 23.9.13
More changes and a chance to meet some of you.
Most of you seemed to be very impressed with the space and the feel. Our amphitheatre created lots of questions and it was good to be able to explain why we didn't build a computer lab. Having a flexible space that can be utilised for any number of activities is a very valuable commodity in Hong Kong. We are already dreaming big and thinking that we could use this space as a drama studio or performance space, have recitals at lunch time, show movies, practice our dance competition routines...in fact the list is endless. Why not contact us with your ideas? They are more than welcome.
What is information Literacy?
Obviously lessons look very different depending on which year group I am teaching. A typical week might see Year 1 students organising information on simple sorting diagrams, Year 3 using the online catalogue to locate materials whilst Year 5 use BubblUs to help define areas of interest.
Click on the presentation below to find out the benefits of being information literate.

Books for Keeps is a great on-line magazine that promotes the very best in children's literature. If you are looking for new releases or new ideas for birthday presents it is definitely worth taking a look.
