A Message from Coach Ian
Dear Stingrays Members,
I am pleased to share that our club has received a Safe Sport Recognized Club status. We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and positive environment here on this team, and we have received recognition for all of our efforts to this end.
Through USA Swimming’s Safe Sport Program, we submitted our Athlete Protection Policies, safeguarding procedures, and educational engagement, including
· Our travel, electronic communication, and anti-bullying policies;
· Our team honor codes and codes of conduct;
· The processes by which we recruit and train staff;
· Our communication procedures;
· And our efforts to educate about Safe Sport, abuse prevention, and healthy boundaries.
All of these items were reviewed by USA Swimming Safe Sport staff. Our Safe Sport Recognized status will run for 2 years, after which time we will be eligible to renew by reviewing all of our policies and procedures again.
We are excited to have achieved this milestone and demonstrate our commitment to providing a Safe Sport environment on this team. Please contact the coaching staff with any questions.
Regards,
Coach Ian
HOW TO CELEBRATE WINS, WHEN ONE KID ISN'T WINNING
When you have two or more children in sports, it can be a challenge to give each one the same level of positive attention — especially when one seems to be winning all the time, while the other is struggling. Joel Fish, PhD, sports psychologist shares his advice on how to find the right balance between celebrating success and prioritizing progress rather than just winning.

Pentathlon Itinerary
Our 26th Annual Pentathlon is next Saturday, Sept. 14th at the Cherokee Aquatic Center (CCAC) Directions
Meet Schedule:
12:00pm All swimmers MUST arrive at the pool
12:15pm Warm Up to Swim for all swimmers. This will be done in your practice groups.
12:30pm Big Bro/Sis & Lil Bro/Sis match-ups!
Make sure to have a name placard so you can find one another. Lists will be posted at the pool so you can know the names of those you're looking for.
Have a name placard (e.g. 8 x10 inch poster board/cardboard, or as big as you want) with your full name written visibly, creatively, colorfully, appropriately, and with personality. Make your name big, so Big and Lil’ Brothers/Sisters can find you from a distance during match-up time. Hold placard in your hand, raise it on a stick, hang it around your neck with string, pin it to a hat, whatever you can do to be visible. Have fun with it!
1:00pm Meet Warm Up until 1:40pm
1:45pm Team Cheer! This will be done all together! Get ready to shake the building!
1:50pm Meet Start
4:00/4:20pm Meet runs until approximately this time; LAPS swimmers may finish sooner
4:00-6:00pm Water Park ("The Oasis") is open for all Pentathlon Competitors
