8 Ways a Child's Anxiety Shows Up As Something Else
Check out the rest of the article here.
What We Are Learning
Math
This week we started our unit on time! We will be learning about the different parts of a clock along with telling time to the hour, half hour, and quarter hour. Help your child practice this skill by asking them what time it is. In a world of digital clocks, it's still important to know how to tell time on an analog clock.
Language Arts and Social Studies
In language arts we are continuing to learn about adjectives and how to use them to describe color and numbers. In reading we are continuing to practice making inferences and retelling a story. As you read with your child each night, ask them to retell the story. Who are the characters? What is the setting? What happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story. Can they identify the problem and the solution. An easy way to do this is:
Somebody
Wanted
But
So.
During writer's workshop, we are practicing writing a friendly letter.
In social studies we have been comparing and contrasting recreation from the past to the present. We are learning about Alexander Graham Bell and Benjamin Franklin and the impact they had on the development of technology.
Science
** If you have a large shoe or boot box you are not using, we could use it for our upcoming Animal Habitat Diorama project. Just send it in with your child.**
