Sexual Abuse Prevention Education
Knob Noster Middle School 7-8
Dear KNMS Families,
1. Instruction providing students with the knowledge and tools to recognize sexual abuse
2. Instruction providing students with the knowledge and tools to report an incident of sexual abuse
3. Actions that a student who is a victim of sexual abuse could take to obtain assistance and intervention
4. Available resources for students affected by sexual abuse.
Nationwide, 1 in 10 students will be the victim of child sexual abuse before the age of 18. Through this program aimed at educating and empowering students, we want to provide your student with the knowledge and skills to use if ever affected by sexual abuse. If you have any questions about the content of the program, please contact your school’s principal or counselor.
All students will participate in sexual abuse prevention lessons unless you choose for your child to NOT participate. These lessons will be conducted by WAFB guest speakers trained in this topic during your child's Health class on April 15th (Girls) or April 16th (Boys). If your child had Health last semester, they have already received this training.
Please fill out the form below if you DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE:
