AVID Strategy of The Month : ORGANIZATION of Thoughts Using Graphic Organizers
One of AVID's main focuses is on organization. How can we help our Patriots prepare for the GMAS by organizing information in a way that helps them to have a better understanding of the information and helps them to communicate the information effectively. As we prepare for taking the GMAS thus becoming a "B" school, students need writing tools to help them organize the information they are trying to communicate in writing before they put it in written format. Students need to know how to organize their graphic organization tools for Narrative writing, Informational writing, Opinion writing, and Math ECR prompts swiftly and effectively! Organization not only helps us communicate, but also helps us reinforce information and get a better grasp of concepts being taught in class. Let's ramp up the organization of our thoughts, and ACE this test!
Happy Organizing!
Here are some ways students can prepare to organize their thoughts for the different writing tasks that they will have to conquer:
Organization of thoughts for Narrative ECR
Organization for Informational Essay (Four Squares)
Organization for Opinion Essay (Four Squares)
Organization for Constructed Response in Math (ACE Three Squares)
