Everyone loves some Chick Fil A!!!! Deadline on Tuesday!
As teachers, we rarely get the opportunity to get food from off-campus during the school day! I have worked with Chic-fil-a to arrange delivery of box lunches to Concord Middle School on Friday, May 4th. The cost of the boxed lunch is $8.
Boxed lunches include:
- Original Chick-fil-a Sandwich
- Waffle Chips
- Chocolate Chunk Cookie
If you would like to order lunch to be delivered next Friday (delivery around 10:30am) please email me back letting me know and I will collect the $8 cash from you by next Tuesday, May 1st.
PBIS Reminders
PBIS Reminders:
Concord Middle Schools PBIS Matrix & IB Philosophy aim to create RESPECTFUL learners.
At CMS, we define RESPECT as thinking and acting in a positive way that shows you care about yourself and others. This is displayed in the way you dress, think, speak and act.
Our school PBIS Matrix encourages students to RESPECT themselves, others and our school!!! Please make sure our current PBIS Matrix is visible in your classroom!!! If you need a new poster, please email Amy Preston!!!
When redirecting inappropriate behavior, try to use our universal language and avoid power struggles with students…
- What are you doing?
- What are you supposed to be doing?
- Are you doing that?
- What are you going to do about it?

Online tutorial - students need to complete by Friday!
As most of you are aware, we have to make sure every student has completed this tutorial before we begin testing next month. I urge you to not wait until the last minute, the tutorial needs to be given in A day homerooms by Friday, May 4th.Please see Ms. Wagner with any questions.
Online Assessment Tutorial Requirements
Schools must ensure every student participating in an online assessment has completed the appropriate Online Assessment Tutorial for the associated assessment at least one time per year at the school before test day.
Students should not complete the tutorial on the day of the test administration.
End of Year Staff Reminders
- Staff need to be here by 8:30am
- EVERY MINUTE COUNTS: your instruction is KEY and every minute with students should be highly valued as we don't have much time left with them before state testing. Remember, don't count down the days but MAKE THE DAYS COUNT.
- Students MUST have a pass or a note to go anywhere during class, and most especially to the office as Foster will send them back
- Check your email; check your email; check your email! This should be done at the very least each day before and after school.
- Students will follow our example on how to treat all safety drills seriously. Please be sure to explain expectations before the drill, follow up with those expectations, and shortly debrief after every drill.

Getting ready for the EOG...
- On Tuesdays/ Thursdays during the month of May, we will be doing WHOLE SCHOOL Reading and Math Test prep to supplement the instruction already taking place in regular classes. Last year, we referred to these as “EOG Carnival Lessons”. There will be 8 lessons total (4 Math & 4 Reading).
- May 8th Math Lesson 1
- May 10th Reading Lesson 1
- May 15th Math Lesson 2
- May 17th Reading Lesson 2
- May 22nd Math Lesson 3
- May 24th Reading Lesson 3
- May 29th Math Lesson 4
- May 31st Reading Lesson 4
- These lessons will be completely prepared for you with minimal prep on your end, very much like last year! Last year, students had to earn entry into the carnival by completing tasks during their EOG Carnival lessons. This year, they will earn entry into the carnival by doing well on the EOG (either by being proficient or showing significant growth)! The goal of these lessons is to help students reach the proficiency or growth needed to enter the carnival. Therefore, students should be paying attention and participating during the lessons as it will help them on EOG’s! All teachers are expected to do these lessons during Miner Time on the designated dates!!!
- You will receive more detailed information about this and materials to share with your students next week, but I wanted to give you a heads up for your planning purposes!
What are we passionate about at CMS?
