LIETZ DISTANCE LEARNING
PARENT INFORMATION
Message from Mrs. Lopez
While I wish more than anything that I can see your child's smiling face again in person, I will definitely see them on their zooms. Please reach out at any time if you have any questions or concerns.
NEW ZOOMER SCHEDULES BEGIN MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND FOR K-2ND GRADES
Students remaining in distance learning (Zoomers) will continue to receive a combination of live and asynchronous online instruction based on the instructional minutes requirements per grade level: 180 minutes for TK and Kindergarten and 230 minutes for 1st-2nd grades. Current distance learning schedules may change to align with AM/PM in-person instruction as we prioritize keeping as many of our students with their currently assigned teacher as possible. Your teacher will provide more details about assignment soon.

WHAT TO EXPECT
HOW ACADEMICS AND INSTRUCTION WILL ALIGN WITH IN-PERSON TEACHING
Teachers are focusing on social-emotional learning and community building during the first week or two of in person teaching. Distance learners will be also be doing some of these activities, and will continue to practice ELA and math skills as their in person classmates acclimate to being on campus. Academic instruction will be comparable and equitable between the cohorts, but will look different. For example: in person students will be able to do more hands-on activities, while it's easier for teachers to work with distance learners in small groups and have discussions. Wednesdays will not change much, and the morning meeting will be a nice time for the whole class to be together.
