Reading Reporting Change: A student in grades: second, third, fourth, and fifth must be reading (independently) on grade-level to receive an “M” or “E” on reading standards.

Art, Music, and PE Reporting Change:

Specials teachers will enter their own grades and student comments on Report Cards.

● 1st and 3rd quarters

○ Mark Effort Score: Consistently, Sometimes, Rarely

● 2nd and 4th quarters

○ Mark Effort Score: Consistently, Sometimes, Rarely

○ Mark Standards

Quarterly Midterm/Progress Report Change: It is a Park Hill expectation that teachers make contact (through documented phone calls and/or paper reports) with families of students not making expected progress.

Where are the 2016 MAP scores?

I attended a Park Hill administrator meeting in the beginning of August and was surprised to learn DESE's timeline for the release of the 2016 spring MAP data was delayed. The spring 2016 MAP data will not be released to school districts in Missouri until the week of September 6, 2016. When these scores are first released they remain in an embargo step through November 3, 2016. This timeline means that families in Park Hill will not receive a copy of their child's MAP scores until after November 3, 2016 when the embargo step has expired. This state timeline is much later than in previous years.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Take care, Dr. Kerry Roe

Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.

That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.

Anyone can nominate an employee for this award by using the form below. It asks you to share how your nominee demonstrates our district values of continuous improvement, high expectations, integrity, visionary leadership and student focus. Throughout the school year, the Park Hill School District and/or English Landing might take pictures or video and release personal information about students for promotion.

Examples might include but are not limited to:

· A special event or program at a school might be covered by a newspaper or television station, resulting in student interviews and pictures.

· Award-winning students might have their names and photos published in a local newspaper, a school newsletter, the districts “First Hand” e-newsletter, the districts “Park Hill Connection” newsletter or on Park Hill TV-Channel 18.

· The district or school might post pictures of school activities on webpages and social media.

If you do not want your child’s image or information used, please contact the English Landing office at 359-4370 to complete a 2016-2017 Denial to Release Information Form.
