Italy's climate
Italy is often called "Sunny Italy," but this description is only partly true. Spring, summer, and fall are generally sunny, but winter is rainy and cloudy. Summer climate in Italy is dry, with occasional rainstorms.In fall, the Saharan air mass contracts, and cool moist air from the Atlantic Ocean flows east over the country.Winters are cold and snowy.
Food
They traditionally eat their main meal at midday. Large meals usually consist of a pasta course, followed by a main course of meat or fish. Sometimes a course of antipasto (appetizers) is served before the pasta.
In the north, flat, ribbon-shaped pastas served with cream sauces are most popular.In the south, macaroni served with tomato-based sauces is the favorite type of pasta.
Pasta

Traditionally, wine is served with every meal except breakfast.

Italy's flag
Italy's flag has 3 stripes, green, white and, red. Italy used a similar flag in 1796 to support Napoleon Bonaparte and France during a war against Austria. They modeled the flag's design on France flag, but used green for blue in the stripe nearest the flagpole.
Italy's housing
Large percentage of the population owns a home many Italian families who don't own a home dream doing so. But new houses are high in cost. So at least in the bigger cities, some families stay their whole lives in a rented apartment. They still tend to call is a casa (house) not an appartamento (apartment).
Their language
Italian is their official language. Dialects differ from city to city. Most of the youths also speak English, their most common second language. Older generations are more likely to speak French. Italian is also a romance language.
The arts
Italy has been center of the arts for centuries, building art movements throughout Europe and the world.Some of the greatest Western painters,architects, and sculptors were from Italy, including Giotto, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, da Vinci, Titian, Bernini, Caravaggio, and Modigliani. Italians invented opera, musical notation, and the piano. Fashion designers such as Gucci, Cavalli, Valentino, and Versace have also become part of the list of great Italian artists.
