Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters!
Message From Principal Webb
Hello families-
The weather is turning chilly and colds and sickness have started! Just a reminder that if your child has a fever they should stay home from school until fever-free for 24 hours.
This week is our Halloween/Fall Celebration at school. See below for more information. The parade starts at 1:15 PM outside. The community is welcome to come! We will be parading outside the building around the playground sidewalk and circle drive North of the building. Also if you are in the neighborhood on Thursday, DeLuxe Bakery will be having a fundraiser that supports the School Children's Aid.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb
Halloween /Fall Celebration
Below is the link that describes our party and parade information for our Halloween/Fall celebrations. Please click on the link below to find the guidelines on costumes and information on the parade.
On October 31, 2019, the students of Longfellow Elementary will have the opportunity to participate in a costume parade and attend their classroom party.
Costumes: On Halloween, students do not wear costumes to school. Please provide an additional bag with a detailed list of the costume parts taped on the outside. If your child’s costume is cumbersome for him/her to bring to school, you can make arrangements to drop it off before the parade.
Weapons of any kind are not allowed at school. Look-alike weapons of any type are not allowed. Your child knows that he/she can use weapon accessories during community trick or treating events, but not at school.
Parade Details: Please try to join us for the all-school parade beginning at 1:15 pm. A weather determination will be made on Wednesday as to whether the route will be inside or outside.
Good weather – students will parade outside—exiting door #6. The students will be called out by classes to parade with teachers past the playground sidewalk closest to the building and continue around the car line circle drive. The upper-grade students performing the Thriller dance will be in the circle drive as well. Poor weather – Kindergarten will begin the parade by coming to first-grade classrooms—students will add on to the parade line in the following order—K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 5th and end in the gym. Parents can line the perimeter of the gym and we will meet you there.
**Once the parade is over, students will return to classrooms to pack up costumes and get ready to dismiss for the day.
Celebrations: Each classroom will hold a fall party celebration with healthy snacks sometime during the day on October 31st.

Also, for those of you who have ordered but not yet received school t-shirts: we ran out of several sizes, but we should be restocked in the next 2 weeks and will fill all outstanding orders then. Many apologies for the delay!
