Hour of Code
Computer Science Education Week is held annually to commemorate the birthday of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906). The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week, December 5 - 11, 2022.
"The Hour of Code is designed to demystify code and show that computer science is not rocket science—anybody can learn the basics," said Hadi Partovi, founder and CEO of Code.org. "Over 100 million students worldwide have tried an Hour of Code. The demand for relevant 21st-century computer science education crosses all borders and knows no boundaries."

Some Experience Needed
BlocksCAD Snowflake
Using BlocksCAD, a free online software designed to teach students coding and Computer Aided Design, students will design a 3D snowflake. Using shapes, translate, rotate, and loop blocks, students will be exposed to computational thinking to construct something they can 3D print!
Life on Land
Part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals project, this coding prompt shows off projects exploring the importance of forests to the world's ecosystem. Readers can play with working projects and advanced programmers can create their own original projects.
Ozobot Blockly Challenge: Shape Tracer 2
The Ozobot Blockly Shape Tracer 2 will teach advanced sequencing and looping skills. Students will utilize logic, reasoning, and computer science skills. No bot needed!

English: Biography
Creative Coding - developed with Scratch and Vidcode - pairs block-and text-based projects with hundreds of cross-curricular topics. Projects are scaffolded so that teachers of any subject - regardless of prior experience - can easily introduce coding. The project-based approach positions coding as a means of self expression for students and gives them a creative way to show what they know.
Yak Attack!
Coding a Greeting Card with Bitsbox - This lesson plan provides a framework for using Bitsbox to give students an introduction to typed coding. Students will use a modified version of the JavaScript programming language to build a greeting card which they can share with others. This activity is fully open-ended; students can (and will) end up with a result that is unique.
