Patriot Week at a Glance
May 10-14
Congrats to Amelia Bishop - Patriot's Yearbook Cover Winner!
A Note from the Principal:
Dear Patriot Elementary families,
Thank you to our Patriot community for honoring all staff during our appreciation week last week. We are very thankful for the kind notes, banners, and gifts of appreciation. Our staff is very lucky to serve our community and the families supporting our children. This week, we celebrate our SRO Josh Rankin and School Nurse Stephanie Porter to show them our appreciation for all they do!
This week we have our state testing in grades 3rd - 5th. Please do not take students out of the building during testing times 8:00-10:00am. It will be important for students to get a great nights rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and to do their very best work! They have persevered this year and we want them to show their best work. This test is one point in time, contributing to a complete body of evidence of their work for this school year. We are so proud of all of the work they have accomplished during a pandemic. Per the state guidelines, students in fourth grade will take the math assessment and students in third and fifth grade will take the ELA assessment. CMAS scores will not affect overall school performance (Patriot is rated "effective") and students' scores will not be used against them in any manner. These assessments will help us determine needs for instructional planning next year.
We look forward to our end of the year events - field day, promotion ceremonies, end of the year class parties, etc. Please remember to sign up for Summer Learning Institute if you are interested in having your student continue free academic learning this summer (see flyer below).
It's an honor to serve our community!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Canon, Principal

PPLD’s 2021's Summer Adventure presented by Children's Hospital Colorado will begin June 1! Children and teens can win prizes by reading or completing activities (PPLD will have in-person programs this summer as well as virtual!)
But we will need your help more than ever to spread the word to your students and families! We are always willing to present our Summer Adventure program directly to your students, but this year, in many schools, that is not possible. Spanish versions will be available soon.
Here is the information you need to tell your students’ families about Summer Adventure and attached is the Summer Adventure gamecard to distribute at the end of the school year in May:
To Register and Play:
Starting June 1, kids, ages 0-18, can sign up online at https://ppld.org/summer-adventure, or come into a local PPLD library, or use the Beanstack app available on Google Play or the App Store. Game cards will be available in libraries or participants may choose to play online or use the app. The gamecard is attached if you would like to distribute it to students, but they will have to wait until June 1 to register and begin.
Participants will collect points by:

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITH A MASK
A note from our school nurse, Mrs. Porter:
We have students at Patriot who have no immunization records or are missing immunizations. Please contact me or bring in updated ones, that would be greatly appreciated! We will also contact families who need to turn in records.
SHOULD I SEND MY CHILD TO SCHOOL TODAY? (See decision tree below)
