Week #4
Parent(s) and Students,
I know it’s getting challenging to keep your kids moving each day. I want to encourage you to be creative and strive for that 30 minutes a day. If your child has a step watch, tell them to move until they get to so many steps. My daughter needed something to do for exercise this week and I would time her to do 1,000 steps within a certain timeframe. She actually went in the the backyard and did all kinds of movements on her own: ran around the trampoline, chased the dog, threw the ball, cartwheels, and jump roped. I couldn’t believe the amount of activities she packed in to get her “steps” in. Keep it going, boys and girls! Challenge yourself for the next 2 weeks and sign-up for Creekside’s virtual run/walk. See the information below. Have a great week!
Love,
Coach Mitchell

GAMES/EXERCISES/DANCES FOR THE WEEK
(See suggestions below)
RUN/WALK GOAL: Find an area in your neighborhood, around the house, or run/march in place and go for 6 minutes without stopping. This is an increase of 1 minute from last week. Do this at least 3 days this week and you can count it as part of your 30 minutes.
Sign-up for Creekside’s Virtual 5-K via facebook. You can run/walk as far as you can up to 3.1 miles. Send a pic of your finish to me or in the Creekside Virtual 5-k group. You don’t have to be in the running club to participate. I would like my Kindergarten and 1st grade students to
strive to run one mile. If you are wanting to do the whole 5-K (3.1 miles), break it up several days if needed. Click the link below for more details.
