Third Grade's Got Talent!
We are so proud of all the school spirit you showed last week during our SEM Virtual Spirit Week! Your team shirts, silly socks, superheroes, crazy hats and family fun pictures brightened the week so much. We thought we should continue the fun, so this week is all about your TALENTS!
On Friday, May 1st, we will have a 3rd Grade Flipgrid Talent Show! You can share a talent you have on our Flipgrid. Each day, we are exploring a new talent. On Monday, April 27th, we will focus on artistic talents. On Tuesday, April 28th, we will think about athletic talents. On Wednesday, April 29th, we will focus on musical talents. Thursday, April 30th is our Talent Mash-up! This will be for any other talent we haven't mentioned: cooking, crafts, puzzles, legos, computers, video games, juggling, magic tricks and more! Be ready to share your talent on Friday's Flipgrid. We can't wait to see what you share!
Mathematicians at Work
Fractions Continue...
We are coming to an end of our fractions unit. This week, we will work on comparing fractions and problem solving. We've been trying out new digital tools to help the students show us what they are learning. Thank you for your patience with some of the technology issues as we work to find the best ways to teach the students.
Word of the Week
Word Study
Nonstop Readers
This week, we will continue doing independent reading from books at home or the databases our school offers through Classlink! Raz Kids, Get Epic, Bookflix, Tumble Books, and more are on available to the students. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will focus on nonfiction lessons and reading. Please be sure you are logging into Google Classroom each day to see what your teacher is asking you to do as a reader.
Wonderful Writers
This week we will be wrapping up our personal narrative study. Students have been blogging or writing personal narratives in Docs or in journals at home. It's been so wonderful to read the students' stories! The lessons on writing can be located and revisited on the Padlet below.
Super Scientists!
This week, we will begin some instruction around forces and motion. We are excited to explore this topic with the help of Ms Verzi who has been creating resources to share with the students!
