What a SOUPER- Week!
Thank you families for joining in the fun with Souper Bowl of Caring week. There will be a winner of the game on Sunday night and also a winner of the Food donation competition! Will it be the Chiefs? The Eagles? We will announce the food donation winner on Monday, February 13th.
The real winners of SOUPER BOWL of Caring will be Crestwood Baptist Church and Peter and Paul Community Services. Both organizations support those who are homeless, unhoused, hungry, and in need of a variety of care. Thank you Crestwood Kids, families, and staff for showing your SouperBowl of Caring spirit this week!
Black History Month Museum starts next week. All classroom doors in our school are being transformed into Museum artifacts with the focus on amplifying black individuals that have shaped cultures and left a historical mark on the world. The doors will be ready by February 13th. Each grade level will provide time to visit each door of our very own Black History Month Museum over the next few weeks. We encourage families to visit the Museum if they opt for an in-person Parent-Teacher Conference either on March 2nd or March 7th.
Peace, Crestwood Community!
NO Waste Kitchen Class Our Environmental Club had an amazing time hosting the “No-Waste Kitchen Class” on Friday. Students and parents learned why keeping food out of the landfill is one of the most important, individual things we can do for the planet. | NO Waste Kitchen ClassThe evening was filled with tips, tricks, and a hands-on cooking experience all centered around making the most of our precious food. | Recycle: Mini Assemblies 3rd-5th graders were provided plastic strips and a limited amount of tape. Students worked in pairs to construct a landfill liner to protect groundwater from contaminated waste. This activity is open-ended and challenges students’ critical thinking skills. Students tested for leaks and discussed their design strategies. |

Friday Announcements from this week!
Pants needed for the Nurses Offfice!
I am in need of pants in the nurse’s office for students. I currently have very little supply. A few things would help this. If I gave your child a pair of pants from here, please return them. Also, make sure your child has an extra pair of pants and underwear with them in their cubbies at school.
Clothing is needed for students, not just for accidents, but muddy wet clothes that come with outside play, a major food spill, or other things. It is always good to have an extra pair at school, just in case. If you would like to donate any used pants that you no longer need, I would greatly appreciate it. I need girl stretch pants size 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and boys sweatpants size 5, 6,7,8,9,10. I do not need jeans or shirts at this time.
Thank you.

District Updates
Sora Reading App Gives Students Access to Library Content Online
Our district is committed to bringing unique learning opportunities to our students, and we are pleased to introduce a new student reading app called Sora that provides students with access to read digital books. The collection of titles in Sora is an extension of Lindbergh’s physical libraries, in an app format that provides 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks. In addition, our partnership includes access to the St. Louis County Library’s Juvenile collection as well. Sora can help students of all ages read more and improve comprehension. Students of all abilities and interest levels can benefit from this service.
