Message from the HVMS PTSO President
Hello, HVMS families! I hope everyone is having a great year thus far. I wanted to share some information about the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) with the hope that you will join us to make this a great school year.
Our purpose is to strengthen, enhance, and encourage the educational and social environments of HVMS. We have identified 3 major initiatives for 2022-2023:
- Monthly appreciation events for teachers and staff
- Net for the football/soccer field
- School dances
To fund our plans without a school fundraiser, we need your help. You can sponsor us by participating in the following events:
- Sign-up genius for teacher appreciation events
- Kroger Community Rewards**
- Restaurant Night
- Paint Night
- Dances
- Direct donations (which are tax deductible)
- Amazon Smiles**
**sign up instructions are on our Facebook page.
We are open to additional fundraising ideas and need members to staff our fundraising committee.

Traffic Pattern
Morning Drop-Offs: Please make sure you are dropping your students off in the car rider line and having them enter through Door 2 in the mornings. Students may exit the vehicle as soon as the car is along the sidewalk (they do not need to wait for an adult to open the door for them).
Afternoon Pick-Ups: All parents/guardians need to park and wait for students to come to their vehicles in the afternoon. Please be very careful when leaving, and please watch for pedestrians and buses! Students may not be picked up from the car rider line in the afternoons.
ATHLETICS
General Information
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are allowed to compete on the middle school athletic teams. All participating students must have a current VHSL sports physical dated on or after May 1, 2022. No student will be permitted to participate in tryouts or practice without a completed VHSL physical form on file. Additionally, all students must have health insurance if they want to participate.
6th Grade Cheer Tryouts
As a result of the recent change in policy allowing 6th graders to participate in middle school athletic programs, Hidden Valley Middle School is holding tryouts for 6th grade cheerleaders on September 6th, 7th, and 8th from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. This tryout is limited to only 6th grade athletes currently enrolled at HVMS.
Athletes must have a VHSL physical dated after May 1, 2022 on file with the HVMS Athletic Director to participate in tryouts.
