Brock Intermediates First Yearbook

This year, Brock Intermediate will have its own yearbook! If you would like to help us fill up our pages with pictures of Brock Intermediate students, please download the app and upload your photos. All photos need to be school appropriate and school related. For example, group photos of students participating in sports, cheer or at a livestock show would be appreciated.

Tutoring, Enrichment, and Extension Opportunities

Hello Brock Intermediate Families,

It is hard to believe that the first six weeks is behind us. We have had a great start to school! The first six weeks our teachers worked really hard to get to know our students personally and academically. During that time, we worked to identify our students' academic strengths and weaknesses. This week in our grade level meetings we analyzed our reading data to help us form groups to meet our students reading needs. Within the next week, you might receive a letter or email requesting for your child to come in at 7:35 for "tutoring". Our plan is to invite students for some additional small group time with their teachers to help close some gaps and/or extend their learning. Additionally, any student that is here by 7:35 is brought into the classroom at that time for enrichment or extension until the official school day starts at 7:55. Our students have already been receiving enrichment or extension, but over the next week, our teachers will also pull small groups to support student growth before school. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Drop Off, Start Time, & Dismissal Time

Doors will open for drop off at 7:15.

Enrichment Time 7:25-7:55

School Starts at 7:55

Dismissal Begins at 3:25

Please remember that it is best to drop students off after 7:15 when we have staff on duty. Dropping off before 7:15 could present a safety concern for our students due to no supervision until that time.

Remote Learners--Updated 9/4/2020

Now that we have completed the first six weeks, we have had many parents of remote learners reach out about returning to school. If you would like for your child to return to face to face learning, please let your teacher know or call the office so we can get you set up to come back. We have quite a few returning to face to face on Tuesday.

We have also had several ask about a different time to meet face to face with teachers via Google Meet. Please know that the times our staff has put out to kids are the times that we have been able to schedule to support teachers and students. I believe our teachers are doing an outstanding job of managing both face to face and remote learning for our kids.

We met with Grade Levels and worked on some ways to organize the content in Google Classroom a little differently so our students are able to easily access their lessons and independent practice. All lessons, starting next week, will be posted in their Google Classrooms under the Classwork tab and organized under the dates for the week. We hope this helps. We have also posted the Virtual Office Hours on the Website if you or your child need to reach out and speak to the teacher.

Please be sure to check your Google Classroom for announcements and assignments. Over the next week, you can expect to see an increase in classwork. Also, let your teachers know if you do not have something you are needing. I hope you have a great weekend.

Lunch Delivery Info

A change that is new this school year to our campus is that we have opted to receive federal funds to off-set costs associated with free and reduced student meals. Because we receive federal funds, federal law associated with this funding prohibits outside food deliveries. While deliveries may not be allowed, parents can still order and personally deliver lunches to their specific child at our campus.

Brock Junior High and Brock High do not receive federal funding currently and will continue partnerships with local restaurants in the Brock community. BISD aims to support local businesses and will not accept deliveries from restaurants outside of Brock. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
