Happenings from February 2019
Fifth Grade Research
Fifth grade reinforced their understanding of alternative energy resources by conducting research in the library. They used the library iPads to scan QR codes to take them to the online database Encyclopedia Britannica. They were to write their own description of the resource and list one advantage and one disadvantage of each. In the classrooms on the Chromebooks they will create a final product using a Google Slide template created by the library.
Second Grade Research
Second grade began the process of researching biographies in the library. We are using the Guided Inquiry Process for their research. In the Open Stage, they learned about biographies and timelines. To make a real world connection, they then created their own timelines. In the Explore Stage, they used QR codes to look at different biographies in the online database PebbleGo. In March, the students will conduct research on an individual and over Spring Break create a "bottle person" in the likeness of their person. After Spring Break, the students will use the Chatterpix app to make their person "talk" about themselves. We can't wait to see the wonderful creative bottle people!

Congrats to Mrs. Pack's Team on winning the 4th Grade Battle of the Books!
