Mrs. Greene's 3rd Grade
April 26, 2019
A Week of Testing!
iLearn schedule for next week is as follows:
- Monday, April 29: Language Arts Day 1 8:30-9:30
- Tuesday, April 30: Language Arts Day 2 8:30-9:30
- Monday, May 6: Language Arts Day 1 Performance Task 8:30-9:30
- Tuesday, May 7: Language Arts Day 2 Performance Task 8:30-9:45
Don't forget that next week, May 1, your child will need a sack lunch including a drink for our field trip to Eagle Creek. We leave school at 9:00 am and return at 2:00.
Your child should have brought a form for a summer math skills workbook. There is an order form on the bottom of the form. If you would like your child to continue working on math skills over the summer to ensure readiness for next autumn, I encourage you to purchase the workbook. Let me know if you did not receive one. When I passed the form out I heard a few groans from the students. Perhaps the form got "misplaced."
I attached a copy (bottom of this newsletter) of the Arbor Day tree information your child received at school today. It gives information about the type of tree and planting instructions.
Looking forward to seeing you at the SRE Carnival tonight. I told my students that they might want to bid on a few auction items from the teachers: 1) 3rd Grade after school movie time - showing Because of Winn Dixie 2) Dog walk on the Monon Trail to Bub's for ice cream one day after school.
That's all I have for now...
Enjoy your weekend!

A few student highlights from our week:
- A Research Club was having a hard time working together. All of the students were talking at the same time and one student had a very difficult time getting a word in. It was frustrating for her! I watched the team of students work together to correct the situation in such a kind way. Great job Taylor, Landon, Maddy, Lily, Cort!
- Parth had an amazing day of participation one day last week - he was listening, actively participating in discussion, and was "hungry" to learn!
- Torrey continues to get compliments during Community Circle for being such a nice friend.
- Jayden is in a Research Club that had a difficult time working together one day. He wrote me a letter of apology and explained how they will do better in the future.
THERE ARE SO MANY MORE...stay tuned for more next week!
