Get Involved
The MV PTSA has the following open positions for the 2020-2021 school year. If you are looking to get more involved at the school, joining the PTSA board is a great way to do it. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month from 7:00 - 8:00 PM and consist of the principal, teacher representatives, student representatives and parents joining together to discuss events and programs at the school.
Open Board Positions
- President - Run monthly MV PTSA meetings, attend monthly Palomar Council PTSA meetings, assist with student registration, oversee executive board and committee positions and offer support where needed.
- VP Ways and Means - Arrange for fundraisers to support the PTSA budget which in turn supports the goals established by the board of directors. This includes organizing monthly dine-outs to support the PTSA and creating the Eagle Card over the summer for Membership team
- Recording Secretary - Takes minutes at board and association meetings, prepares meeting agendas, maintains PTSA records and important documents to pass on at end of term
We are also in need of a Parliamentarian, Hospitality Coordinator, Programs Chair and Volunteer Chair.

INFORMATION FOR 8TH GRADERS
8th Grade Transition To High School
It’s that time of year that we begin to start planning for our 8th graders transition to high school. If you have an older child and have been through this, you are probably more at ease than a parent who is approaching this transition for the first time. Our 8th graders often feel great anticipation and excitement as they make the last major transition within their K-12 education. We hope that the information below eases any questions that you might be having. The MVMS Counselors and HS Counselors are here to help and guide you and your 8th grader through this transition.
