Long Elementary School

Summer Updates

We hope everyone is enjoying summer break. We hope you have had time to relax and spend time with family and friends! Even though we don't have students in our hallways they have been busy with activity! We are getting painted this summer and the fresh coats of paint have given the school a new look! We are so excited! A huge thank you to the wonderful painters who have been working since school got out in May. The hallways and classrooms are also in the process of being scrubbed and getting fresh coats of wax. We are thankful to our wonderful custodial staff. A lot of work goes into the preparation for the upcoming school year.

If you have walked into Target or Walmart you have seen the back to school supplies are already out! If you are an early shopper we are linking the supply list so you have access.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

School Hours are 8:45-3:35

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival:

Doors will open at 8:35. Students will be entering the building through the main entrance. They may stop and get breakfast in the cafeteria.

All children who are late to school after 8:45 a.m. will need to sign in at the office.

Morning Drop Off:

Long staff members will begin arrival at 8:35. Students arriving to school before 8:35 will not have adult supervision outside.

In the morning, caregivers will drop off and students will enter the building by using the main entrances indicated on the image below. We ask that caregivers do not get out of the car in the pick-up line. We will have adults direct students on the crosswalk. If you need to walk your child to the front doors please park and do not go through the drop off line.

Afternoon Pick-Up:

Car Riders:

We ask that all caregivers download the PikMyKid app, see information below. This app allows you to check in and adds your child's name to our list. We also have a staff member outside to assist in this checking in process. Caregivers that pick-up will enter through the parking lot's main entrance and form two lines. If your student is a pick-up they will wait in the gym until their name is called. Caregivers do not get out of the car. We will have staff members walk your children out and to the cars after the car line stops moving.

*This process is slower the first few days as our youngest students learn the routine

Walkers will be dismissed out the front doors.

Bus riders will be walked to the bus by a teacher.
