DNA Smore
Not something you can eat, something you can learn
Deoxyribonucliec Acid
Or better known as DNA. DNA is the carrier of genetic information.
What is its structure?
Its structure is a double helix or better described a as a twisted latter or the candy twizzlers.
What is it made of?
It is made out of small units called nucleotides that are strung in a row.
Where is it?
It is found in all eukaryotic cells and some viruses.
What does DNA do?
DNA's job
DNA directly controls protein replication and synthesis.
Heredity
The passing of on physical or mental characteristics from one generation to another.
Replication
The action of copying or reproducing something.
Protein Production
The process of decoding the instructions of DNA to make RNA.
What is RNA?
- ribonucleic acid, a nucleic acid present in all living cells. Its principal role is to act as a messenger carrying instructions from DNA for controlling the synthesis of proteins, although in some viruses RNA rather than DNA carries the genetic information.
