School Board Recognition Night
The Elementary, Middle and High School Trojan Tech Teams made presentations filled with appreciation for the School Board’s support of district-wide initiatives. The students sung songs, prepared videos and shared stories of how each team has been able to learn new technology skills and share them with fellow students and staff in their home buildings. Additionally, they learn collaboration and leadership skills while working in small groups. Everyone expressed sincere appreciation to the School Board for supporting district-wide technology efforts and programs like this one which helps develop the leaders of tomorrow.

Michael Falco, Student Rep to the Board, also gave a report and thanked the Board for their support of a comprehensive educational program at Parkland. His presentation is linked here.
Preliminary Staffing Report – 2014-15
Dr. Rod Troutman, Assistant Superintendent, gave a Preliminary Staffing Report for the 2014-15 school year. His presentation can be found here.

Dr. Rod Troutman, Assistant Superintendent, gave a 2013-2014 Midyear Goals Update. His presentation can be found here. It focused on cooperation and collaboration between departments as well as efficiencies that helped the team accomplish goals.

The Board expressed gratitude to the many students and staff who came out for School Board Recognition Night and to Mrs. Breiner, Coordinator of Educational Technology, who led the coordination of the program. They also praised Dr. Troutman for giving two excellent presentations. Mr. Sniscak thanked everyone who helped prepare for the evening’s presentations including Beverly Kressley, Diane Foley, Tracy Smith, Beth Breiner, Rod Troutman, Nicole McGalla and all of the students and staff presenters. Mr. Sniscak also commended the PHS staff who worked together with Butz and ServePro to clean up the library which was victim to a sprinkler leak last week, causing extensive damage. Mrs. Marcus ended by stating that the School Board is thanked every day by knowing that the time they spend serving makes a difference in so many lives. She thanked everyone for all they do to help Parkland be the best it can be.
The next meeting will occur on Tuesday, Feb 18 at 7 PM (workshop) and 8 PM (business meeting).
