Winston Churchill
Lion's roar
Background history
The famous photo shares a story with the current history that was unfolding. WW2 was in full swing and the prime minister winston churchill was making famous war speeches and to top it made a bold portrait saying that the lion as in Britain is going to roar.
This photo was taken in the United kingdom in Winston's home town and it is taken as a studio portrait picture.
What can we learn
What we can learn from the picture is the black white and how it complements the story behind the picture. With the picture being the way it is it gives a seriousness vibe from it which I think the photographer was going for.
My opinion
I like this portrait because it is so simple yet the picture has so much meaning and emotions behind it. The portrait also captures churchill's agenda that times are serious and that you need to be stout and strong to be able to survive the war.
