Back into the swing of things
Well we survived the eclipse and the first full week of school! This week is going to be full of practice drills where we walk through our emergency tornado, fire, earthquake, and intruder drills. This gives us the chance to see the procedure in action before the actual drill. Mr. Ford also came around and introduced himself to our kiddos this morning.

Dojo Reward Party on Friday!!
Our class uses Class Dojo to keep track of our behavior points and learn important life skills. We set a goal of 100 points as a class by the end of August. They already reached that goal in just one week! I'm telling you, this is the best class EVER! For their reward, the kiddos have chosen to bring a stuffed animal to school on Friday. It must be able to fit in a back pack and will return home Friday after school.
Just a few notes...
- We have a drinking fountain in our classroom so bringing water bottles is unnecessary.
- Toys (including pokemon cards and electronics are not allowed unless it is a special day set up by the teacher or principal.
- Students are encouraged to bring a snack to eat at first recess. It seems 12:15 will never get here when active kiddos are hungry!
- Homework logs are due on Friday! I'm excited to see how hard kiddos are working at home!
Seesaw
We will be using the Seesaw app this year as a digital portfolio in order to share what we are learning in our classroom with you! Watch for the bright green instruction page coming home in your child's folder to get connected!
Native Americans
We are starting our unit on Native Americans today. We will be learning about the Native Americans of different regions and making crafts! Students will bring home the entire project at the end of our unit.
