RETURN TO LEARN
Remote and In-Person Hybrid Models of Learning
What information drove the task force proposal for a 5-days per week, 1/2 day model?
- Students need consistent in person contact.
- Teachers should focus on one group of students at a time for effective instruction.
- A consistent schedule is important for children and families.
- Students and staff must be able to maintain 6ft distance from each other.
- Avoid a model requiring meals at school that would eliminate "food distribution" for families and require the removal of masks indoors - both potentially harmful to the health and wellness of our community.
The family commitment to a learning model will remain in place through end of trimester 2 (February 26). The two choices are:
- REMOTE ACADEMY: We will continue to offer a remote instruction for families who would like to keep their children at home. Your commitment for the Remote Academy will continue through the completion of the second trimester on February 26, 2021.
- IN-PERSON/HYBRID: We will begin to offer in-person instruction in a Hybrid Model. This means students will attend school every day in the AM or PM. Students will be divided into AM or PM groups by administration with a focus on keeping families on the same schedule. When students are not in-person, they will be working remotely from home. Your commitment for the hybrid model will continue through the completion of the second trimester on February 26, 2021.
More information on both models can be found here.
Call the school office if you did not receive an email for EACH individual student.

Please treat any absences the same as you would if we were learning in the building. If your student is running late or going to miss any or all of the school day, call the office (847) 298-1976 to let us know.
