End-of-Year Testing

As of today students have been assessed in Math, English/Language Arts, and Science. Assessment results look positive and show much growth by Trexler students! The school district plans to allow the release of the Math and English/Language Arts scores to students sometime next week. If you have any questions about your child's score once you receive them, please contact their teacher. Looking ahead to next week, students will be assessed in Social Studies on Monday.

Thank you to all the parents and community members for assisting with test proctoring – we truly could not do it without you! Also, thank you Trexler students - we realize that taking long tests is not a fun activity and we appreciate your focus and determination to do your best.

A Message From the Nurse About Medicine Pick-Up

The Onslow County School District requires that all medicine stored at schools be picked up by parents or disposed of by the school district prior to the beginning of the Summer Break. All medications must be picked up by 1:00pm on June 11, 2018 (this date and time was set by the Onslow County School District). Any medications not picked up by 1:00pm on June 11th will be discarded by the district. Please call Trexler to speak with the nurse, Felita Maready, to determine if your child has any remaining medication or to learn more about disposing of medicine. Office hours through June 11th are 6:30am to 3:30pm.

Awards Ceremony

On June 8, 2018, grade level awards ceremonies will be held in the gym. The 6th grade ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:45am and the 7th grade ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:30am. All teachers will recognize Class Highest Academic Average recipients as well as a Teacher’s Choice recipient for each class. A variety of other recognitions and/or acknowledgements may be presented or announced. While we have enjoyed recognizing our Principal's List and Honor Roll recipients through various celebration activities such as an exotic animal presentation, a Skate Nation skate party, and a dance party, unfortunately it is not possible to have a 4th nine-weeks Principal's List and Honor Roll celebration and/or recognition as term grades will not be finalized until after the school year ends.

An Awards Ceremony will also be held for 8th graders and refreshments will be served following the ceremony as we give a formal farewell to our 8th graders and their parents. The ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm and should last approximately 1 ½ hours. Additionally, all teachers will recognize class Highest Academic Average recipients as well as a Teacher’s Choice recipient for each class. A variety of other recognitions and/or acknowledgements may be presented or announced. Perfect Attendance (no absences and/or tardies or early checkouts) will be recognized during the awards ceremonies. Feel free to call Amy Rowntree, Data Manager, at 324-4414 to confirm your child’s status at any point prior to June 9, 2017.

Visitors should arrive early enough to check-in as a visitor with their photo ID at Trexler's office to attend a ceremony.
