Forgiving Kangaroos!

R-MIS' winning team for September was the Lavender Forgiving Kangaroos!!!! (Brown, Spainhower, and Arbogast!!!) Each month the classes in the teams work together to earn points for attendance, good citizenship, and community service. They can lose points by getting office referrals. Community service forms really put the Forgiving Kangaroos over the top for the month of September!!! Community service forms can be found in the office or in each classroom. They are to be turned in to Mrs. Wheeler after they are filled out.

October

Core Essential and Precept

The Core Essential Value for October is courage. Courage means being brave enough to do what you need to do, even when you're afraid.

The precept this month is "If you are tempted to say I can't, have the courage to add YET!"

How you can apply this at home: Discuss the word courage and use it in conversations with your child. The precept is all about having a growth mindset: realizing that we don't have to be perfect, know it all, or be the best. A growth mindset is a realization that we can always improve through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. There is so much power in the small word YET!

Bully Prevention Month

October is Bully Prevention Month. Students are focussing on bully prevention in counseling classes. See below for an information sheet shared by Mrs. Wheeler and a link to our Safe Schools Button on our District Webpage. Please, never hesitate to contact our school's administration and teachers with any concerns regarding student safety and well-being.
