Charger Check-In
February 24, 2022
A Note from Ms. Owens
This weekend during Masses, St. Catherine will be Burying the Alleluia. In school, students are doing the same in their classrooms. While a number of SCA teachers have "buried the Alleluia" for several years, we moved to make this a school-wide experience in 2020. As a community of faith, we stop saying "Alleluia" with the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. During this liturgical season, as Catholics, we move to a posture of fasting, almsgiving and reconciliation in preparation for Christ's Ressurection at Easter when we will unbury - or ressurect - the Alleluia.
If you would like to read a bit more about burying the Allueluia, please click on the button below. There is lovely reflection written by a parent who is a contributor to Busted Halo. If you would like to bury the Alleluia as a family, you will also find a link to a few diffferent coloring sheets you can print and use or your family can make your own!
I expect some families may have questions regarding other Covid mitigations and protocols as we have moved to a mask-optional policy. Right now, my understanding is that all other mitigation strategies and protocols (distancing, quarantines, testing, etc.) will remain in place. I'm hopeful to learn more and I will share the information as soon as I am able.

Exhibiting Good Sportsmanship at Athletic Events
The children in our lives watch us constantly - even when we don't think they are paying attention. Respect and courtesy must be shown by all to all those present - players on both teams, coaches from both teams, all spectators, parent voluteers, athletic board members.
