Counseling Program and Character Lessons
Greetings to you from your counselor!!
I wanted to introduce you to the exciting concepts your child will be learning at school through the counseling program. All counselors in Grand Prairie Independent School District will be using Cloud 9 guidance curriculum. The Cloud 9 program is about the strengthening of character , and the capacity to make wise choices for a well-rounded life and a thriving society. Each month a character trait will be highlighted. This character trait will also coincide with a major theme and cool college and career activities. Check out the awesome layout below!!!
August-Compassion (Gina the Gorilla)
Compassion is showing kindness and concern for others. When someone is sad or in trouble, you try to help them. Sometimes all you need to do is listen or say a nice word.
Ways you can show compasssion
- You see someone is hurt, and you rush to help them
- You volunteer to feed the homeless
- You write letters to soldiers who are far away from home
