Hello Parents!
Conferences are coming up the week of October 9th! Monday is a non-student day to allow for conferences. Tuesday-Friday are minimum days with students dismissed at 1:25 p.m. to allow time for conferences.The focus of our conferences will be on goal setting for the year. I am looking forward to taking this time to meet with you to discuss goals for your child. Please sign up for a time below that is good for you. Each conference will last 20 minutes and are back to back. We will have In-Person Conferences in Room 203 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and Virtual Conferences will be on Wednesday. Here are some upcoming events and reminders:
- SEES Scholastic Fall Book Fair will start September 29 - October 6. Our class is scheduled to visit the Book Fair on Thursday, October 5th, from 9:00 a.m.- 9:20 a.m. Details to come but helpers wanted! Fall Book Fair (Volunteer) Sign Up Go cashless...set up your child's eWallet.
- SEES Movie Night- Super Mario Bros. is September 22nd. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Movie will start around 7:00 p.m at the campus field.
- Our Library day is on Wednesdays. Please remind your child to return their book by Wednesday.
- Yellow Fluency Folders: Please return them on Friday.

This week students will write an informative paragraph about tortoises.

In this lesson, your child is learning to solve word problems that involve adding or subtracting numbers up to 10.

Our class will celebrate the birthday scholar with a birthday cheer, dance, and song.
Class Birthday Goody Bags
You may send in non-edible items: small toys, erasers, pencils or trinkets. Please Do Not include candy due to the District Wellness Policy.
Birthday Invitations
If your child is passing out invitations at school, please be sure that all students in the class are invited. This prevents tears for our sensitive first graders.
Donate Library Book: You can donate a “Birthday Book” to the Library. Please put your child's name and room number (203) on the book with a sticky note or insert a paper. You can hand your child's birthday book into the office to give to Mrs. Ellis (the librarian), or your child can give their book to me and I will give it to Mrs. Ellis. During the next flag salute, Mrs. Ellis will have your child come up to the front of the assembly (where she is standing) and she will announce the book donated. Then the school will sing happy birthday to your child.
Classroom Google Website: I have created our classroom Private Google Website. This site is a resource for our classroom, where you can access information, photos, class directory, and forms shared by our room parent. Please review the Classroom Directory. Independent Study Contract: If your child will be missing five or more days, please contact the office at least one week prior to set up an independent study contract.

🎬 SEES Movie Night: Featuring Super Mario Bros. Movie 🎬
Join Princess Peach, Mario, and Luigi on a Super Mario adventure full of twists and turns. We are holding our family movie night earlier this year to kickstart the 2023-2024 school year under the stars. Pack a picnic dinner, chairs, and your SEES friends, and head out to the campus field on Friday, September 22nd. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. The movie will start around 7 p.m. All students must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian, please. This is a free event sponsored by your SEES PTO.
Cash for Kids The Cash for Kids fundraising drive has surpassed the halfway mark toward the goal of raising $55,000! Thank you so much to all who have donated so far.
Plus, the Cash for Kids grade level participation challenge has begun! Classes are competing by grade level to have the most donation participation in their grade. The highest participation class per grade, by September 30, will win “Electronics Day”, a beloved reward among our students.
