Happy New Year!

Cheers to a new year! In looking forward to a great year ahead, now is a great time to set goals for yourself and your students. See the linked documents below for some great ways to creatively set goals with your students and be sure to revisit these at the close of each quarter or whenever appropriate! Have a wonderfully prosperous 2016!

  • Reflections and Goals -- This tool asks students to reflect on the previous year and set some goals, for the new year.
  • Goals "Craftivity" (foldable template) -- The hands-on activity has students create a flip book with up to 5 goals outlining the steps to achieve that goal
  • 2016 Goals -- This tool asks students to list personal goals in a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 format.

Just for Fun: Formative Assessment Emojis

Formative assessment gives such valuable information about immediate student needs and informs instruction for the next day/week. Therefore, why make it a chore? Here is a fun way to make formative assessment something students look forward to!

Getting the most out of your tablet

A New Mini-PD Series!

It's no secret that we have a limited amount of time left with our Amplify devices. Instead of casting them aside, why not get the bet bang for you buck by using the tools provided by the devices that can be used and re-used across multiple devices?

The plan: Use the device for everything you can while you have it!

The tools: There are several apps/programs that will allow you to create some cool stuff like tutorial videos that can be used LONG after the tablets across/with any devices (netbooks, iPads, desktops, etc.)

Your job: SIgn up! I've made it easier by providing a link for you to sign up at YOUR convenience. This will be a session offered multiple times throughout the month of January. You only need to attend one to get the gist, but are more than welcome to schedule multiple sessions. No convenient times listed? Just let me know and I'll work around your schedule. We can make it a 1:1 session or have a group party!

January's focus is LENSOO! This whiteboard recorder would allow you or your students to record short tutorials for a needed concept. See the blurb and video below:

--Session Blurb--

Lensoo: Do your students need basic, short, tutorial videos to refer back to certain concepts? Do some students need more practice than others? Are you just plain tired of repeating yourself? :) Lensoo is a free app that you can use to create those white-board/graph paper, voice over tutorials in a quick and easy format for students. These can be downloaded and shared with students this year and saved for next year--no matter the device being used! This is great for ANY content area and is extremely easy to use!
