Tiger THRIVER Skill for September:

AT TES this year, our staff is continuing to use the book THRIVERS by Michelle Borba, Ed.D. to help guide us as we teach our students to THRIVE. We are focusing on her 7 teachable skills to help students learn how to flourish and succeed in our fast-paced, digital-driven, ever-changing world. These seven skills are being embedded in the culture of our school through conversations, lessons, social interactions and expectations. They are:

  1. Self-Confidence
  2. Empathy
  3. Self-Control
  4. Integrity
  5. Curiosity
  6. Perseverance
  7. Optimism

Each month, we will focus on one skill by teaching, modeling, and recognizing it on campus. We will continue to celebrate students who are Thriving at TES with Tiger Thriver Tickets, Top Tiger recognition at our weekly assembly, and written and verbal communication from staff members. We will also share with you some of the ways you can help your child develop these skills at home. Please let us know if we can guide you further or if you have any questions along this journey. We look forward to helping all of our Tigers THRIVE this year!

iReady Parent Tip!

Hi Parents!

Time spent in iReady is important, however, lesson completion is key! To make sure your kiddos are completing lessons for their iReady homework, ask them to show you their progress screen in iReady. It will show lessons completed, time spent, and how many lessons they've passed in a row.

ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee)

ELAC is responsible for helping to advise the school's principal and staff in developing a site plan for English learners and submitting the plan to the School Site Council for consideration of inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). ELAC will also assist in developing the schoolwide needs assessment and find ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.

We are looking for parents of our English Learners to become part of this committee to ensure we are addressing the needs of our students. Please click on the image for a full-size graphic with the dates and times of our ELAC Meetings.
